Cleaning Procedure
of EDM Machines for
changeover
to ProSource
Synthetic Fluids
Because ProSource is a 100% pure synthetic
fluid, mixing with other dielectrics or cleaning agents in Not
Recommended. Use a small
amount of ProSource Synthetic in a rag for cleaning purposes.
Cleaning Procedure
1) Pump out all existing
oil from the dielectric storage tank.
2) Remove covers or
clean out doors (if applicable) from the dielectric storage tank and evacuate the remaining oil completely (use a “Wet Vac” to
evacuate hard to reach areas).
3) Remove filter
elements and completely clean the filter canisters.
Note: On Transor
filtration systems it is not necessary to change the filter elements.
4) Disconnect all hoses
at their lowest point and drain.
5) Drain pump
housing. (Most pumps have drain plugs.)
6) Wipe out and clean
the machining tank.
7) Restore covers, hoses,
drain plugs and new filters. Fill system
with ProSource Synthetic according to machine capacities.
8) Alternate: For machines where it is impossible to
completely evacuate the storage tank due to small hard to reach pockets, we
recommend:
a) Restore as in point 7
but excluding the filters.
b) Use enough of the new
ProSource to prime the pump and let circulate for
approximately 1
hour.
c) Repeat steps 1-7.
